This well-known burger chain opened its Bristol branch at Clifton Triangle this month. They made burgers posh. I had the Byron Burger which is topped with bacon. The burger itself is similar to McDonald’s quarter pounder with better quality ingredients. However, the patty was too dry! Isn’t cooking it at medium supposed to keep the juices […]

Pasta with greek yoghurt
Pasta with greek yoghurt and cheddar and grated lemon zest with smoked salmon and dill. Greek yoghurt makes it creamy yet tangy at the same time when combined with the lemon zest.
Brekkie + oysters at Source
Source prides itself on selling only high-quality produce. I had a very miserable breakfast at Source as the maple bacon pancakes that I had my eye on were sold out. Settled with porridge. And because it’s healthy and natural, is basically bland with some molasses on top. While I was browsing the butcher’s and fishmonger’s, […]
My Birthday at Las Iguanas
Headed to Las Iguanas for my birthday celebration as I had a free main meal to be claimed. Had Sizzling Steak Fajitas. What can I say, but absolute disappointment! Mini quiches
I also used the mini cupcake maker to make quiches. A single egg made 16 mini quiches! Recipe to follow as I adapted several recipes and made up my own steps too.
Soba noodles in miso soup
Miso soup from a packet with sliced carrots, soba noodles, a cooked prawn, a scallop, tinned tuna from leftovers.

Noting down my calorific intake to help gain weight. Lost around 0.5 to 1 kg (my weighing scales are inaccurate due to some percentage error in the spring) over the weekend due to ceilidh dancing at a friend’s wedding, and hauling stuff for moving house, and walking now that I live further away (despite eating the […]
Caramelised onion pasta with truffle olive oil, tomatoes and tuna
Moved to my new flat and sharing with a veggie friend. Used the same ingredients as the rice she cooked last night to make this but with different condiments and added protein.
‘Fish head’ bee hoon soup
‘Fish head’ bee hoon soup. Made from the leftovers from poached salmon yesterday hence no actual fish head. Rice vemicelli, bean sprouts, chives, chillies, milk, salmon and the salmon poaching liquid as a soup stock.
Poached salmon topped with yoghurt
Followed this microwave recipe from Wikihow that made use of my store cupboard ingredients. Chicken bouillon, dill, black pepper.
