Bristol Harbour Hotel is a newly-opened hotel at the former Lloyds Bank building on Corn Street. Despite the name, this hotel is nowhere near the harbour! As far as I am concerned, they can give the place any damn name they like when the food is this good!
The appetiser was a chunky fish soup with ‘toys’. ‘Toys’ being stuff you put into the soup – croutons, aioli, Parmesan cheese. It’s fish and shellfish in a thermidor. Sooo rich!
My main was a massive Mixed Seafood Grill – “South coast fish and shellfish, served on the bone. With fennel, tomato, herbs and garlic, jetty seaweed mayonnaise”. It came with two fillets of fish (not sure what type but it had a sea bass-like texture), a prawn and several mussels and clams.
My dessert was a warm chocolate fondant – “Warm chocolate fondant, kirsch cherries, black cherry sauce, cherry ice cream”. A brownie with a molten centre with black cherry sorbet and mousse (strangely with salted chocolate muesli).
This place is such value for money given the quality and quantity of seafood!
